Satin and Lace Frame Set

(or 1001 things to do with one pattern)

This tutorial is entirely my own work and any resemblance to any other is purely co-incidental.  Please do not copy, duplicate, translate, script or use in any groups without my permission.

My thanks to my fabulous testers at Force Fantastic for their unfailing support and patience.

At first glance this tutorial seems very long but you don't begin creating the frame until step 24.  The first part is about loading the supplied pattern into the correct folders and creating another pattern for your background.  The frame itself is very easy to create once you have everything in place.  There are many ways of achieving a great result using the ideas contained on this page, (see bottom of page for examples) either for tags or for letters, so once you have worked the tutorial through and have everything you need in place, why not have a go at putting your own creative slant on things.

You will need:-

Paint shop Pro.  I have completed this in PSP X but it will work in 9

A Tube.

My Pattern.  Download Here.  Unzip and save to a folder on your computer.

Here is what to do:-

1.  On your computer locate the folder where you saved your pattern.

2.  Right click/Copy the pattern

3.  Locate your PSP Patterns folder. (Mine is My Documents/My PSP Files/Patterns)

4.  Right Click/Paste your copy of the pattern into that folder.

5.  Now locate your PSP Textures Folder (Mine is C Drive/Program Files/Corel/PSP X/Textures)

Created using a light background and changing the Colour Edges Intensity Setting to 2 to give a lighter Lace effect

Use Different Shapes to create the frame. Change your colours to create the background colour of your choice

Achieve different effects by adjusting the Coloured Edges Intensity and Luminosity Settings.

This was achieved by using Simple Four Way Average as well as Top Left Mirror after filling the border with the pattern, Rotating the image and using Top Left Mirror and then altering the settings in Coloured Edges until I found an effect I liked. It doesn't show too well because the image has been reduced but the dots are shiny gold.

This tag was made, like the header above, using a preset shape and filling with pattern 1 on which I had used Simple Four Way Average then adjusting the settings in enamel and coloured edges until I found something I liked.

There are many more things you can do with this tutorial and I hope I have given you some ideas for your next creative venture.

Have fun.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.  Let me know Here
