
Ribbons and Hearts Side Border

The tube I have used is by Yoka. With thanks.
This is what you will need:
PSP. I have used X but it should work in earlier or later versions
A tube (Misted is preferable) Also works with a graphic or tube masked with 20-20.
Patterns. Gold or Silver Beads. Here

OK. Let's begin!
1. Open PSP and select your tube.
2. Materials Palette/Select two colours from your image. A darker one for your foreground and a lighter one for your background.
3. Materials Palette/Foreground/Gradient. Select Foreground-Background/Style Linear/Angle 45/Repeats 3/Invert CHECKED.
4. Minimise your image and switch your foreground back to colour.
5. File/ New/Open a Raster transparent image 260 x 260 pixels.
6. Selections/Select all
7. Selections/Modify/Contract 18
8. Selections/Invert
9. Flood fill tool/flood fill your selection with your foreground colour
10. Selections/Select none.
11. Effects/Distortion Effects/Warp using the following settings:-Horizontal and Vertical (minus) -58/Size 28/Strength (minus) -47.

12. Effects/Plugins/Simple Filters/Top Left Mirror
13. Selection Tool/Magic Wand using the following settings:- Mode Add (Shift)/RGB Value/Tolerance 0/Use all Layers and Contiguous CHECKED/Feather 0/Anti-alias CHECKED/Outside/Select the border you have just created

14. Effects/Plugins/Italian Editors Effect/Effetto Fantasma using the following settings:- Sposta-X 30/Sposta-Y 30.
15. Selections/Select None
16. Selection Tool/Magic Wand (same settings) Select the four inner light segments of your frame (see below):

17. Selections/Promote Selection to Layer
18. Flood Fill Tool/ Flood fill with your gradient.
19. Effects/Plugins/Simple Filters/Top Left Mirror
20. Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds using the following settings:-Width 2/Opacity 20/Colour White (or a colour of your choice)/Horizontal UNCHECKED/Light from left/top CHECKED ( I have used Blinds in this tutorial because everyone has it in their PSP, but you can use a different texture or pattern to make your creation your own.)

21. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel using the following settings: Bevel 2/Width 1/Smoothness 20/Depth 1/Ambience and Shininess 0/ Colour White/Angle 315/Intensity and Elevation 40.

22. Selections/Modify/Select Selection Borders using the following settings: Outside/Anti-Alias CHECKED/Border Width 2

23. Materials Palette/Background/Pattern/Select Golden Beads or Silver Beads/Flood Fill Tool/Flood fill your selection with the pattern.
24. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen More.
25. Selections/Select None.
26. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the following settings: Vertical and Horizontal 1/Opacity 20/Blur 1/Colour Black/Shadow on New Layer NOT checked.

27. Repeat Drop Shadow using -1 (minus) Settings
28. Close your top layer and highlight your bottom layer
29. Selection Tool/Magic Wand Select the outer pattern (see below)

30. Selections/Invert/Press delete on your keyboard.
31. Selections/Invert
32. Materials Palette/Gradient/Same settings but Invert UNCHECKED
33. Flood Fill your selected border with the gradient.
34. Effects/Plugins/Simple Filter/Top Left Mirror
35. Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds/Same settings but CHECK horizontal
36. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel
37. Selections/Modify/Select Selection Borders same settings
38. Flood Fill Tool/Flood fill with your gold or silver bead pattern
39. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen more
40. Selections/Select None
41. Open your top layer/Layers Merge/Merge Visible and close this layer.
42. Layers/New Raster Layer.
43. Image/Canvas Size using the following settings: Width 340/Height 340/Placement Centre Arrow Selected
44. Selections/Select All
45. Selections/Modify/Contract 25
46. Selections/Invert
47. Flood fill with your foreground colour
48. Selections/Select None
49. Effects/Distortion Effects/Warp using the same settings.
50. Effects/Plugins/Simple Filters/Top Left Mirror
51. Selection Tool/Magic Wand/Select the border you have just created.
52. Effects/Plugins/Italian Editors Effect/Effetto Fantasma using the same settings
53. Selections/Select None
54. Selection Tool/Magic Wand/Select the four sections of the inner border as we did for the first part of the frame.
55. Selections/Promote Selection to Layer
56. Flood Fill Tool/Flood fill with your gradient/Invert UNCHECKED
57. Effects/Plugins/Simple Filters/Top Left Mirror
58. Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds/Horizontal UNCHECKED
59. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel
60. Selections/Modify/Select Selection Borders
61. Flood Fill with your gold or silver bead pattern
62. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen More
63. Selections/Select None
64. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow
65. Repeat Drop Shadow using minus settings.
66. Close this layer and highlight your frame border layer.
67. Select each section of the outer patterned border.
68. Selections/Invert then press delete on your keyboard
69. Selections/Invert
70. Materials Palette/Foreground/Gradient/Invert CHECKED flood fill your border with the gradient.
71. Effects/Plugins/Simple Filters/Top Left Mirror
72. Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds/Horizontal CHECKED
73. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel
74. Selections/Modify/Select Selection Borders/Same Settings
75. Flood fill with your chosen bead pattern
76. Adjust/Sharpness/Sharpen More
77. Selections/Select None.
78. Open all of your closed layers and merge visible.
79. Selection Tool/Magic Wand/Select the centre space of your frame and Selections/Promote Selection to Layer
80. Selections/Modify/Expand 8
81. Flood fill the selection with your background colour.
82. Selections/Select None
83. Layers/Arrange/Move Down
84. Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise/Gaussian/Noise 6/Monochrome CHECKED
85. Effects/Plugins/Brush Strokes/Crosshatch using the following settings:-Stroke Length 9/Sharpness 6/Strength 1

86. Maximise your tube and resize so that it is no more than 200 pixels on it's largest side.
87. Edit/Copy and close. Edit/Paste as New Layer onto your frame. Adjust as necessary.
You should now have this.

88. Image/Canvas Size/using the following settings:- Width 1280/Height 400/Placement Centre Left Arrow CHECKED

89. Layers/New Raster Layer
90. Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom
91. Flood fill with your colour of choice or use your darker foreground colour.
92. Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise same settings
93. Effects/Plugins/Artistic/Dry Brush using the following settings:- Brush Size 2/Brush Detail 8/Texture 1

94. Effects/Plugins/Brush Strokes/Crosshatch using the same settings.
95. Effects/Image Effects/Seamless Tiling/Default.
96. Highlight your top (Frame) Layer and add the following Drop Shadow: Vertical and Horizontal 2/Opacity 30/Blur 6/Colour Black/Shadow on New Layer NOT checked.

97. Repeat Drop Shadow using Minus -2 settings.
98. Highlight your tube background layer and lower the opacity to your preference. On this example the opacity is at 63%.
99. Layers Merge/Merge Visible.
100. Add a new layer and add your watermark.
Export as a Jpeg with the compression at 25.
Assemble in Letter Creator and set your text at 350 Left.
