
Animated Ocean Header
This tutorial is completed entirely in PSP 9 without the use of any outside filters. It is entirely my own work and any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
This is what we will be making:

You will need:-
PSP 9
A tube of your choice
A Gradient
Ocean bmp. for Displacement Map. If you don't have it you can download it here. Unzip into your textures folder.
Ready?? OK.
1. Open a new Transparent Canvas in PSP 450 x 450
2. Duplicate this image.
3. Select your gradient as your foreground choice in your materials palette.
4. Flood fill one canvas with your gradient using the following settings.

5. Effects/Distortion Effects/Displacement Maps using the following settings.

6. Effects/Image Effects/Seamless tile using the following settings:

7. In your materials palette/Background choice/Pattern/Select the pattern you have just created.
8. Minimise your pattern image.
9. Now working on the other blank canvas complete the following steps.
10. Select the Preset Shapes Tool using the following settings:

11. In your Materials Palette with your Gradient still as your foreground choice , null the pattern background option.
12. Drag out an ellipse shape on your canvas and adjust with the nodes until it is about the size shown below.

13. Move this image across to the right side of your canvas
14. Objects/Align/Vert.Centre in Canvas.
15. Layers/Convert to Raster Layer
16. Effects/3D Effects Inner Bevel with the following settings:

17. Select your Magic Wand and using the following settings click on a transparent part of your canvas INSIDE of the ellipse shape.

18. Selections/Promote Selection to Layer.
19. Selections/Modify/Expand/4 pixels.
20. Effects/3D Effects/Cutout using the following settings

21. Move the promoted layer down under the ellipse layer.
22. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
23. Selections/Select None
24. Select your Magic Wand and using the same settings as before select the area OUTSIDE of your ellipse shape.
25. Selections/Promote Selection to Layer
26. Selections/Modify/Expand 4 pixels. Don't worry that the selection disappears off the edge.
27. Flood fill the selection with the pattern you created earlier.
28. Selections/Select None
29. Image/Canvas Size. Using centre option expand your canvas by 12 pixels all around.

30. Using your Magic Wand with the same settings as before select the transparent area around your frame that you have just expanded.
31. Flood fill with your gradient
32. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel using the same settings as before.
33. Selections/Select None.
34. Move this layer to the bottom
Now is the time to add your decoration to the frame.
Add whatever you like. Brushes, text or corners adding each effect on a new layer.
35. When you are happy with your frame Merge/Visible and minimise.
