Creating the Frame
 
The hard work is done and now we just have a few borders to add to complete the image.
So here is what we do.
 
Image/Add Borders/Symmetric/4Pixels
Choose a colour that is not in your image.
Select your border with the magic Wand and flood fill with your dark colour.
Selections/Invert
Effects 3D Effects/Cutout with the following settings:-
 
Vertical and Horizontal  2
Opacity  60
Blur  13
Shadow Colour (The same colour you used for the drop shadow on the image.)
 
Repeat with Vertical and Horizontal set to Minus 2 and all else the same.
Select None
 
Maximise your tube and seamless tile at default.
Add a new layer and flood fill with your light colour.
Move this layer to the bottom and merge.
Edit/Copy
 
Image/Add Borders/Symetric/15 Pixels.
Select with your Magic Wand
Edit/Paste into selection
Effects/Plugins/Mehdi/Kaleidoscope.
I used the following setting but you can adjust until you find something you like.
 
 
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel at the following settings:-
 
Bevel 2
Width 4
Smoothness 100
Depth 8
Ambience 0
Shininess 50
Colour White
Angle 315
Intensity 28
Elevation 48
 
Deselect.
 
Image/Add Borders/Symetric/4 Pixels in your dark colour.
Image/Add Borders/20 Pixels/Symetric.
Select the border with your magic Wand
Edit/Paste into selection.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur/15
Effects/Plugins/Greg's Factory Output Volume 11/Pool Shadow at the following settings.
 
 
 
Deselect.
 
Image/Add Borders/4 Pixels/Symetric in your dark colour.
Image/Add Borders/15 Pixels/ Symetric.
Select the Border with your Magic Wand
Edit/Paste into Selection
Effects/Plugins/Mehdi Filter/Kaleidoscope/Same settings as before
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel/Same settings as before
Deselect.
Image/Add Borders/4 Pixels/Symetric/ In your dark colour.
 
Bring your corner tube into PSP and Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as a new layer into your image.
Place in the top left corner of your image and adjust the size if needed.
Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize.
You will have to play around here until you get the colour you need depending on the colour of your image.
As an example the settings I have used are Hue 250 (that's on red) and saturation 81
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow at the following settings.
 
 
 
The colour is the same as used throughout.
If you are happy with your corner duplicate the layer
Image/Mirror
Duplicate
Image/Flip
Duplicate
Image/Mirror
Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten
Image Resize to 550 width making sure that Lock aspect Ratio is checked
Sharpen if necessary.
Save as a Jpeg with the compression set at 25
Leave the image open in your workspace.
Congratulations your frame is now complete.
 
To Create the Sidebars
 
Selection Tool/Rectangle/Mode Replace/Feather 0/Anti Alias Checked.
Select from the top left corner of the image to the edge of the decorative corner and drag to the bottom.
Like this:-
 
 
Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as new image.
Image/Resize/Lock Aspect Ration Unchecked/Adjust the width and leave the length as it is.
I have reduced mine to 65 pixels wide. (The corners I have used are quite large so the selection is a little wide for my sidebars.  Yours may be OK.  It's up to you whether you resize or not)
Effects/Plugins/Filters Unlimited/Tile and Mirror/Mirror Horizontal.
Save as a Jpeg with the compression set at 25
 
To Create the Background
 
On your  main image using your selection tool with the settings as they were before draw a selection around the top corner.
 
 
Edit/Copy
Edit/Paste as new image.
Effects/Image Effects/Seamless Tile at default
Layer/New Raster Layer.
Flood fill with your light colour
Lower the opacity of this layer slightly.  Mine is lowered to 94.
Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.
Effects/Edge Effects/Enhance or
Effects/Plugins/FM Tile Tools/Blend Emboss at default.
Repeat until you have the effect you like.
Save as a Jpeg with the compression set at 25
 
Assemble all of your pieces in Letter Creator
